About
Welcome! I am an arts & culture journalist currently based in Miami. I’m also an avid reader, a dog-lover, a musical theater nerd, and a huge New York Mets fan. As a freelancer, I’ve contributed to the Wall Street Journal, Miami New Times, Dance Magazine and others, and in 2018 I graduated from Columbia Journalism School’s MA program.
It was back in college that I first combined my interests in dance and writing. After graduating from Barnard College with a BA in English and a minor in dance, I spent four years on staff at Dance Magazine and Pointe, writing and editing stories about dance and theater. My adventures included interviewing the original ensemble dancers of Hamilton, exploring the impact of “So You Think You Can Dance” on the dance world, and following the experience of an American ballet dancer living in Cuba. I’ve also contributed to Dance Spirit, Dance Teacher, ExploreDance.com, and the Dance Critics Association Newsletter.
Since then, I’ve expanded my range as a cultural reporter, writing reviews, cultural criticism, profiles, and longform reported stories that have taken me to new corners of the art world. In addition to dance and theater, I’ve written about music, visual art, film, and television. I’ve also explored the way art intersects with other major cultural conversations, from the #MeToo movement to climate change.
I am currently available for freelance assignments. If you’d like to know more, or are interested in working together, don’t hesitate to get in touch.
